Life is full of good but can be hard and challenging! As Romans 3:23 reminds us, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” All family members are broken and have struggles. Thankfully, God has given us His Word, the body of Christ and wise, Godly people to speak into our lives.
Join us for the next installment of our Equip series, a weekend event focused on one of the most pressing issues of our time: managing anxiety. In a world filled with uncertainty, busyness, and constant pressure, many of us find ourselves weighed down by worry. But the good news is that God has not left us without hope or help.
We are thrilled to welcome back Dr. Jim Coffield of Knoxville, TN, as our guest speaker for this powerful and timely event. Dr. Coffield is a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of teaching and counseling experience. His warm, practical, and biblically grounded approach has made a lasting impact on many lives, and we're grateful to have him with us again for this important conversation.
The conference will begin on the evening of Friday, February 20, starting with registration at 6 PM. The conference will take place from 6:30-8:30pm, then continue Saturday morning with coffee served at 8:30am The event will conclude at 11:30am.
Registration is $15 for individuals and $30 for couples, and $40 for couples requiring childcare. Childcare is limited.
Throughout the weekend, Dr. Coffield will guide us through understanding the roots of anxiety and how both spiritual and psychological tools can equip us to manage it with grace and resilience. This event is designed not only for those who personally struggle with anxiety, but also for anyone who wants to walk alongside friends, family, or community members in compassionate and Christ-centered ways.
The Bible offers us deep reassurance in the face of fear and anxiety. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us:
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
This peace isn't something we generate ourselves - it's a gift from God, rooted in His presence and promises. Jesus also spoke directly to our anxieties in Matthew 6:34:
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
In a culture that often normalizes stress and glorifies busyness, the church is called to be a place of rest, hope, and healing. Events like this are a vital opportunity for us to grow in understanding, support one another, and experience God's peace together.
We hope you'll make plans to attend this special weekend. Whether you are seeking personal tools for managing anxiety or want to better care for those you love, you'll walk away equipped, encouraged, and grounded in truth.
