Church en Casa

St. Margaret, Belize

Church en Casa exists to provide a healthy and safe place for people who wish to listen and learn from the sacred scriptures which come from “Jesus the author and finisher of our faith who for the joy set before Him suffered the cross and sat down at the right hand of God.” Hebrews 12:2

2/2/24

Hello everyone,

We pray this email finds you well. We just wanted to check in and express our gratitude through email since it's a little complicated to see everyone in person. Church en Casa is doing well and has even grown a little in size. Praise the Lord for the three new families attending church. It is because of you that we can continue to reach out to the community and share the gospel. Thank you so much for your financial and prayerful support!

Every Thursday at bible study we take time to pray for the needs of the people. Church en Casa would love to return the favor of your prayers. How can we be praying for you this month? Don't hesitate to reach out to us and let us know!

Here's how you can continue to pray for us:

  1. Pray for more faithful financial supporters. We are now $500 short of being fully funded every month.

  2. Pray for Wilson’s visa. We would love to be able to visit each and every one of you in person.

  3. Please pray for the people of our church. We are surrounded by false teachings, and our hope is that they take what they are learning home with them to meditate on and share with others.

  4. Pray for more men to rise and be leaders.

  5. Pray that the Lord will give us St.Margaret village for His glory.

  6. Pray for the salvation of the people.

  7. There is a virus in the village going around, many in the church and in the village are sick. Pray for healing and strength.

12/24/23:

Hello gang,

I pray this email finds you well. What a joy it is to meditate in all the things the Lord has done in us and through us for His purpose and glory. As we take a moment to look back on 2023, words are not enough to express the gratitude that abides in our hearts today. The Lord has been faithful yesterday, today and forever more, and we rejoice and rest in that truth. 2 Timothy 2:13. Yes, there have been ups and downs, but through it all, He has been good.

To close the year 2023, I would love to take you back through all the work the Lord has entrusted us with for His glory. The father has done great things through wretched yet forgiven people like us. All glory to him who uses unworthy creatures like you and me to build His kingdom.

The Bible says that the Lord will build His church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Church en Casa has remained a safe and healthy place for many who desire to grow deeper in God’s word and develop a personal relationship with the King of Kings. We have seen many come to church and leave with a better understanding of the gospel of Christ. The church faithfully continues to gather together every Thursday and Sunday night. Through the year we have had the opportunity to serve many villages by providing food packages and delivering a clear presentation of the Gospel of Christ. We’ve had countless gospel opportunities, and for these we give the Lord all the glory.. With confidence in our hearts, we can say that hundreds have walked away hearing the  message of the true gospel in 2023. Today we stand trusting and praying for their salvation, knowing that the work of salvation belongs to the Lord alone.

In March we spent time with a team of high schoolers from Harvest Church Memphis. It was good to see the youth passionate about missions.

The Lord provided a bigger car for the ministry, and we no longer have trouble picking up those farther away who want to attend church. Currently, we are making two trips to pick up two different familie for service.

We are grateful that as a church we are able to help those in our community. Church en Casa poured one concrete floor for a family and supplied many more families with food and other necessities this year. A few of our youths went to a christian summer camp, a new experience for villagers. The church also sponsors the tuition of two girls currently attending Church en Casa to go to school here in the village.  Also, this year Wilson got the opportunity to preach the word two times at his old high school.

Perhaps our biggest joy as a ministry this year was the salvation and baptism of Fredli Godoy. Praise God for His saving power and redemptive work here in St. Margaret, Belize.

We are closing the year in the company of Mark and Franciska Richardson, partners and friends in the ministry. It is always a delight to enjoy Franciska’s cooking and Mark’s wit.

Your gifts and support have brought us through 2023 and we are excited to bring on 2024! Please keep praying for these things:

  5. Pray that the Lord will give us St. Margaret for His glory.

  6. Pray for the salvation of the people.

6/24/2023 - Hello friends,

we are already halfway through the year 2023. As we look back, we can surely say that the Lord has been faithful to us and so have you.

Here in Belize, we continue to run the steady race as we share the gospel with people and pray over their salvation. Currently, we have two women in our body professing to have been born again. Please pray with us that this is genuine salvation as we wait for fruit to be produced in their lives.

In a culture where the true gospel is unknown, we believe that perseverance is the key to a good start. We hold fast to the truth of God's word being the one that can convict of sin and transform hearts of stone. No matter what, our goal is to continue to make Him known without giving up.

On April 26, Wilson got the opportunity to be the guest speaker at his old highschool (Belmopan Baptist High School) under the theme "what do you say I am" . It was a sweet time for him because it brought a lot of good memories. The message was taken from Ephisians 2:1-10 where he explained the contrast between who we were outside Christ and who we became in Christ. It was a great opportunity to preach the word and share the gospel and so he did. Glory to God.

Also, over the past few months many friends and family from America took the time from their busy schedule to be with us and see the work the Lord is doing in the village of St. Margaret. We are grateful for sweet friends and family and their love for God and missions.

It has been a season of learning and growing in the Lord for sure. In May our little car broke down. Many of you know how esencial this car was for us and the ministry. Even though the space in it was small, picking up people to bring them to church was always a necessity since many do not have transportation. Shortly after it broke down, there came a time of waiting and frustration, but in prayer and supplication we made our request known to the Lord and he surely heard our prayers. We were overwhelmed with the support you guys showed to help us get a new car. The Lord was faithful to provide us with a 2003 Toyota Highlander SUV that can fit a few more people to bring to church. Thanks to the Lord for His provision and you all that donated cheerfully for this need.

 PRAYER REQUESTS:

1.    Pray for more faithful financial supporters. We are now $500 short of being fully funded every month.

2.    Pray for Wilson's visa, that the application process will be easy and that he will get it. We would love to be able to visit each and every one of you in person!

3.    Pray for the people of our church. We are surrounded by false teaching, and our hope is that they take what they are learning home with them to meditate on and share with others.

4.    Pray for more men to rise and be leaders.

5.    Pray for the salvation of the people!
